  • Beschrijving: French soldiers in one of the villages on Lake Garda wander around admiring the view. One addresses a letter he has been writing, others groom their horses, others buy food from the street vendors. Bersaglieri cyclists ride into the village and dismount smartly in formation. A French horse-drawn convoy begins to move out down one of the country roads. The tower at Solferino filmed from the road below the city. The monument to Napoleon at Rivoli being inspected by Italian soldiers. The bridge and monument to Napoleon at Arcola (battle 15th-17th November 1796) and the house used as his headquarters during the battle. British gunners pass through the town with munitions wagons and 18-pounders, setting up camp just beyond the bridge. Italian Engineers drive piles into the bed of the Adige River to replace damaged supports for a bridge. More French soldiers and transport emerge along the road to Brescia from a tunnel ("Porta Brescia") through the hills.Representatives of First Army and the Air Corps parade while General Anthoine presents Captain Heurteaux with the medal of Officer of the Legion of Honour and Lieutenant Fonck with that of Knight of the Legion of Honour. A marchpast follows the presentation.
